I write dark historical fantasy about the machinery underneath a society: who owns the knowledge, who is allowed to copy it, and what it costs the person who does it anyway.
The Printer’s Apprentice follows Kellen Weber — seven years bound to a trade, a master with a locked case, and a page that should not have set. The Bindery opens twenty years later, in the world that break made.
Alongside them are two lines of shorter work: The Penny Workings, standalone twist stories from the years after cheap printed magic spread, and Tales of The Knowledge, which looks at the same world from its edges.
